چکیده
This study considered the practicality of groundnut shell ash (GSA) on laterite stabilized with lime for civil structures. Three site locations lateritic soil named specimen I, II and III were assembled from Ifewara, Atakunmosa West Local Government Area, Ilesa East Government, all situated in Osun State, Nigeria. Preliminary tests wrapped up specimens their characteristic states when optimum lime. Compaction, California Bearing Ratio (CBR) undrained triaxial shear strength performed fluctuating paces 2 %, 4 6 8 % GSA included to at The Atterberg limits showed a critical decrease plasticity index Compaction test lessening maximum dry density 1732 kg/m3 1651 1874 1621 1683 1655 stabilizing lime, presentation lime-soil decreases I diminished 1642 kg/m3, 1595 1611 substances individually. Addition enhanced engineering properties as unsoaked CBR values expanded specimens. At measurements, addition 110.74 kN/m2 127.53 individually while addition, was peak 118.24 kN/m2. expansion further affirms improvement prior shown geotechnical ash. content extended 60.43kN/m2 188.36kN/m2 4% content, both 19.19kN/m2 201.48kN/m2 30.62kN/m2 111.65kN/m2 separately. Conclusively, improved durability soils

The Effect of Rice Husk Ash on Mechanical Properties of Clayey Soils Stabilized with Lime in the Presence of Sulphate
Geotechnical engineers, in many cases face with low strength or high swelling potential of clayey soils. Stabilization methods are used to improve the mechanical properties of this type of soils. Lime and cement are the most popular materials used in chemical stabilization of clayey soils. If sulphate exists in the stabilized clayey soil with lime, or if soil is exposed to sulphates, problems s...
متن کاملEffect of Oil Contamination on Lime Stabilized Soil
This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of spent oil contamination on the strength of lime stabilized soil. Laterite soil was stabilized with lime in percentages of 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8% of the dry weight of soil. Specimens were prepared for UCS and CBR. The specimens for UCS were cured for 7, 14 and 28 days; while the specimens for CBR were cured for 4 days. Contamination of the specime...
متن کاملeffect of curing time on shear strength of cohesive soils stabilized with combination of lime and natural pozzolana
when geotechnical engineers are faced with cohesive clayey soils, the engineering properties of those soils may need to be improved to make them suitable for construction. the aim of this paper is to study the effect of using lime, natural pozzolana or a combination of both on the geotechnical characteristics of two cohesive soils. lime or natural pozzolana were added to these soils at ranges o...
متن کاملArtificial Neural Network Based Backcalculation of Conventional Flexible Pavements on Lime Stabilized Soils
Conventional flexible pavements built on lime stabilized soils (CFP-LSS) were studied for the backcalculation of pavement layer moduli from nondestructive Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing. The validated ILLI-PAVE finite element program was used in pavement structural analyses by taking into account the effects of nonlinear layer modulus behavior, i.e., stress hardening for granular ma...
